2007 CSIRoad Transportation Software Year In Review

It’s been a great year in the software business; we’ve had a fantastic 2006 and 2007 helping a wide range of customers operate their transportation businesses more efficiently! CSIRoad software is now in place in a wide variety of firms including truckload and less-than-truckload trucking companies, intermodal transporters, barge operations, tank truck haulers, brokers, auto haulers and much much more!
2006 ushered in a variety of new features for our software including:
Integration of handheld devices to scan bar codes, provide GPS data and read RFID data.
- This allowed petroleum haulers who service fleets onsite successfully had drivers scan vehicles that were being filled with gasoline. It resulted in dramatic improvement in accuracy and quick turnaround on invoicing process.
- Auto hauler drivers were able to scan vehicles being picked with biggest benefit of accurate recording of VIN numbers and subsequent tracking capability.
- Route Drivers received their route plan electronically; were able to capture signatures and print receipts as necessary. A dramatic reduction to paper, time for invoicing and reduction in number of errors.
CSIRoad clients were easily able to broadcast brokers’ requests for bids from carriers via the web.
- This broadcast dramatically reduced faxes, phone calls, and other analog communication which resulted in inefficiency.
Integration with the popular accounting package QuickBooks resulting in greater financial accuracy and reduction in manual operations in both software packages.
Addition of scanning capabilities tied supporting documents to PRO’s and the emailing of freight bills to customers providing more information at less cost to customer with improved payment turnaround.
2007 is proving to be just as exciting as CSI is on track to provide a complete, web-based, Microsoft .net solution to our clients who have a large global footprint. The .net web application of CSIRoad incorporates the same desktop look and feel existing customers know and are comfortable with but, requires none of the investment in servers and network infrastructure to operate. All a transportation company or broker needs is web access and they’re ready to go. We think that large, highly distributed transportation, logistics or trucking company would benefit from this the most. Stay tuned for more news on this front!
