We are the dedicated petroleum hauler for many stations. We must keep the tanks full. There is no room for errors or inefficiency. Eight years ago when we began looking for a system we outlined our goals and requirements.

Our operation consists of 200 trucks, multiple companies and terminals with 8 major pickup points. We are based outside a metropolitan area.

I am required to know the location of the tankers at all time. Using a GPS system, which interfaces with CSIRoad. The location of the tanker, driver and truck is known. Additionally, when a driver has a problem, for example, cannot deliver a product to a tank, he sends a message via GPS, the dispatcher can immediately address the issue and redirect the driver. When the driver delivers the product he enters the gallons and BOL number; the order is then automatically updated to freight billing.

I post the actual gallons delivered along with the BOL on my web site. My customers see the information and payment is approved immediately. This is a positive impact on my AR.

My customer reports tank readings at least once a day. They can report both stick or gallons readings and CSIRoad makes the necessary interpretation; updates readings and forecasts. From the history, the forecasting and order creation is done. The orders are presented to the dispatcher who can edit the load at his discretion.

We also take advantage of the interface provided between CSI and the terminal rack. The feature to be able to update loads at time of pickup directly from rack has proven to be very beneficial. We are able to audit the quantities delivered based on the quantity delivered.

The interface with the rack in conjunction with the GPS interface minimizes data entry from a billing perspective and the timeliness of sending invoices. The administrative side of my business runs more smoothly because of the rack and GPS interface with CSIRoad.

CSIRoad applications calculates bills; driver settlement; and fuel & mileage. The results are automatically updated to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger.
